Individual therapy

Something has been sitting on your chest for months or years. You've managed, because you always manage. But managing is not the same as living, and lately the gap between the two has been getting harder to ignore.

What changes

Where this work takes you

A weekly hour that is entirely yours, with someone trained to help you understand what's actually going on and change it. People tell me they leave lighter, clearer, and more like themselves. Not because we avoided the hard things, but because we finally faced them in good company.

This is a good fit if

  • You're carrying anxiety, low mood, grief or a life change that has outgrown the friends-and-family support system
  • You're the eldest daughter, the fixer, the one everyone leans on, and you'd like one hour a week where someone holds things for you
  • You want a therapist who understands code-switching, family expectation and the weight of being the first to do things, without you having to explain it from scratch

It's not the right fit if

  • If you're in crisis right now, please use the urgent support routes on this page rather than waiting for a reply
  • If you're looking for a quick fix in two sessions, I'll be honest with you about what change actually takes

How it unfolds

  1. First session

We map what's brought you here, what you've already tried, and what you want to be different. You set the pace. Nothing has to be said before you're ready.

  2. The middle

Weekly sessions where the real work happens. Some are heavy, some are surprisingly funny, most are both. Patterns start to make sense, and then they start to loosen.

  3. The ending

Endings are part of the work, not an admin step. We plan yours together, review what's changed, and make sure you leave with what you came for.

Every session includes

  • A free 15-minute intro chat before anything is booked
  • Weekly 50-minute sessions, in person or online
  • Open reviews of how the work is going, whenever you want one

I expected an hour of heavy silence and got an actual conversation. We laugh in there sometimes, and somehow that is what made the hard bits sayable.

Asked before booking

In person or online, which is better?

Whichever you'll actually turn up to, honestly. The research says both work. Some people need the ritual of a room, some do their best talking from their own sofa. You can switch between the two.

What kind of therapy is it?

I trained integratively, which means I draw on several approaches, mostly person-centred and psychodynamic thinking, and I shape the work around you rather than fitting you to a method.
